Thoughts from Chapter 2:
- Reading All Kind of Minds to encourage kids to acknowledge strengths and weaknesses- Reading Have You Filled a Bucket Today? to encourage kids to be responsible for their actions- Seeing student evidence of Conscious Discipline "in action" in classrooms since we've started learning these techniques

To Do:
- bring in supplies to make our own Conscious Discipline materials on December 12th- read Chapter 3 "Assertiveness"

The initial strategies that we have used to integrate Conscious Discipline in our classrooms are:

- taught kids to be STARs in class meeting format (positive feedback from students!)
- during character ed time in class meeting format; used STAR strategy during line-up time
- created "safe space"
- use picture cues to help students identify feelings and behaviors
- use rap
- CD starts with ME as a teacher! my behaviors affect kids!
- create feeling box or telling box to write down feelings or thoughts and get them out
- acknowledge students' emotions
